The Roman Bath at The National Theatre! (In Sofia, Bulgaria)...
I came back last week from a crazy, fantastic, eye-opening few days in Sofia the capital of Bulgaria; performing one of the countries' most treasured plays on their home turf.
In a revival of the play that we did at The Arcola in May 2010, the producer Anna begged and charmed her way to taking us all to perform The Roman Bath at the National Theatre in Sofia.
It was a whirlwind that swept us into three sell out performances; standing ovations; live breakfast TV; evening culture TV; furious tech rehearsal; workshops; meeting the cast of the original production; and wonderful Bulgarian hospitality and curiosity. Five days felt like five weeks!
