Having not been on stage for over six years, I siezed on a theatre job with Net Curtains Theatre Company, playing in an ensemble at The Arcola Theatre in London. The play, 'One, Nineteen' by 'Archers' writer Tim Stimpson, is a punchy contemporary piece that takes a cutting view on how our desire for increasingly dramatic news is fed by a media led by its own agenda.
Set against the backdrop of a natural disaster that hits the UK, the play is satirical, poignant, laced with comedy and brilliantly well observed.
It's been great working and rehearsing with a gang of creative people and developing a live performance. My main character is the celebrity figure who uses the disaster to restart his music career - I also have 5 other chorus characters and it's great fun to play.
Opening night went well and the run ends on Dec 1st. Do come along - details below:
